I'm about done with reading articles on stress.
Eliminate Stress! Read here to learn how.
Reduce the stress in your life.
Avoid Stress Now. Tips and Tricks to tell you how.
Then it usually tells you to do things that actually increase stress because you could have gotten something done in the amount of time taken to do the stress reducer. Like get massage. It may feel great but then I don't know about you but I don't feel like leaping tall buildings nor have the gumption of passing an endurance test after getting massage. I seem to take on a form of laziness where the things I want to get done are to read a good book. Finish off that bottle of wine and be done with that. Watch that movie that's been sitting around and get that returned.
I'm not talking about deserving. Y'all deserve a massage or a bubble bath. Y'all are worthy of your little indulgences. We are women and are pretty, and should continue to do pretty things. I'm talking about the suggestion that the solution is to add another thing to do, to all the other things to do. It seems to me every suggestion about stress is to avoid or to reduce it. I'm questioning. Aren't we looking for ways to cope with it? Aren't we looking for ways to be capable in handling a stressful situation? When I turn my attention to the message sender aren't I looking for a better way to deal with it all?
When your day is packed back to back don't you get upset and start feeling like crap because you still have more to do. Do you still feel like crap even though you are worthy and deserve, but its because the stress inducers are still there inducing their stress. So although you may feel better, things may actually be worse because everything got postponed until tomorrow, or now you have inflict all sorts of punishments to yourself to make up for the time spent on your indulgence like short yourself on sleep. But yet, we still deserve the treat! We don't want to stop doing the treat. So around it goes.
So I'm done reading articles on stress. Because I've could have taken care of the stressor in the time it takes to read the article.
So then what do you do? When your stomach is sour because your back to back schedule has got you all high strung? What do you do when a cancellation brings relief because now you can do B. and C. but still aren't getting to D. and E. ?
I also just love it when a definition of a non-stress day means that everything is clicking along with no events? I get what I just said. But what I'm talking about is when one thing goes wrong the whole day is ruined? So what no kudos on recovery?
My question is... Can you have a bunch of things happen that aren't quite right and still end up with a good day?
Now the answer to that would be the stress buster solution that I'm looking for.
So the trick is to figure out how to reduce stress without adding another thing to do to everything else you need to do.
